Welcome to So Fly Magazine. Conceptualized over the last few years in long car rides to and from the river, So Fly is what we see as the future of fly fishing publications. High quality, high definition fly fishing video content taking advantage of the flexibility of the web and delivered to its audience in the most convenient manner possible. We envision our subscribers enjoying So Fly not only in their home on their computers and TVs, but also stream-side on their smart phones.

In Issue 1, we visited tailwater fisheries all over the country. Although often designed to create drinking water sources and for flood control, dams spawn some of the best trout streams in the world. These "happy accidents" give rise to not only wonderful recreational opportunities, but also ingenuity. In our travels we spoke with Landon Mayer and Charlie Craven, who both honed their craft on local tailwaters. These fly fishing havens also helped fuel commercial success at small Colorado fly shop Cutthroat Angler and at Umpqua, the world's largest fly production company. Filming the Tocks Island Dam segment reminded us that while we are thankful for the wonderful fisheries that dams create, sometimes the "happy accident" occurs when the dam isn't built.

We hope you enjoy clicking through our first issue and invite you to purchase a premium subscription, which will give you access to four 1 hour long, fully conceptualized & crafted episodes brought to you over the next year.
